Wie genau die Schatten nach Eo kamen ist unbekannt, aber es war das Wirken von Nazshar, Sorvinas Ehemann, welches ihnen ermöglicht hat, sich dort zu verbreiten. Ihre Körper sind wie schwarze Abgründe, in denen alles Licht und Leben verschwindet. Gewöhnlich bewegen sie sich auf der Schattenebene, für die Augen normaler Wesen unsichtbar. Nur wenn sie einen Angriff gegen einen sichtbaren Gegner führen, müssen sie die Schattenebene verlassen und sichtbar werden. In diesem Moment fließt in ihnen noch die Magie der Schattenebene, und dadurch können sie einen einzelnen, furchtbaren Angriff gegen ihre nichts ahnenden Opfer führen. Ihre Klingen erscheinen direkt in den Eingeweiden des Feindes und bereiten diesem ein schnelles Ende. |

Der Nachtmahr gleitet still und unsichtbar über das Schlachtfeld, bis er sein Opfer ausgespät hat. Gleich dem Assassinen führt er beim Verlassen der Schattenebene einen furchtbaren Angriff gegen ein nichts ahnendes Ziel. Für Veteranen, die schon einmal gegen Schatten in die Schlacht gezogen sind, ist ein Himmel voller Gegner nie mehr so furchterregend, wie ein scheinbar leerer Himmel, der sich jeden Moment in ein schreiendes Inferno aus Finsternis verwandeln kann. |

Gleich seinen Schattenbrüdern greift der Zerstörer aus dem Verborgenen an, richtet seine Schlagkraft dabei allerdings gegen Gebäude. Mit der Macht der Schattenebene durchdrungen, bringt der Zerstörer die Erde selbst zum Beben, wenn er in die sichtbare Welt wechselt, und vernichtet dadurch die Gebäude und Strukturen des Feindes. |

The great ice dragon Aryn, the Frostweaver who in ancient times almost froze the world over with its terrible breath is awakened by a servant of the dark god Zarach. This Fial Darg (prince of darkness) has stolen the elven queen Cenwen away from him. In ancient times Cenwen saved the world from Aryn by calming him down and locking her self up with the mighty dragon. The Fial Darg wants to use the blood of the elven queen in a ritual to bring back the dark gods into the world of EO. With the elven queen gone chaos is once again ruling the lands. It's up to the player to restore order one more time.

After the convocation, the world was shattered and splitted into islands, small remains of land prevented from total destruction by the stones of gods. Rohen, once a powerful mage of the circle, dedicated his life to linking the remains together with portals. He used the power of the archfire, a dangerous arcane force discovered by the circle in the ruins of the Shapers. The force which had driven both the circle and the world to the edge of destruction should have helped him to create a new world.
